Shamanic healing is thought to be one of the oldest healing practices, stretching back thousands of years and linking to indigenous cultures across the globe. Essentially an energy-based therapy, shamanism is rooted in the belief that everything has an energy and that, sometimes, work needs to be done to bring things back into balance.
Traditionally, a shaman was an important part of tribal life – a medicine person, said to be able to communicate with spirits and ‘journey’ to spirit realms with the help of their own spirit allies. Modern-day shamanism follows a similar pattern, with properly-trained shamanic practitioners working with power animals and spirit helpers to seek advice for the client.
Shamanism stems from nature itself. Shamanic practices tap into the power Mother Earth has to offer and the ancient indigenous teachings are derived from the simple truths of nature. Shamanism is not only concerned with the health of the individual, but also with the health of the entire community. This includes all people, plants, animals, and all of life.
Daily spiritual practice allows for the continued and exponential growth of both body and soul. The goal is to create internal and external harmony with all creation.
Learning to approach and connect with sacred places is an intrinsic part of shamanism. By honouring natural wonders such as rivers, lakes, mountains, and caves, we reawaken and invigorate the energy of the land.
Ceremonies to honour the spirits of nature help promote harmony and balance. The path of shamanism never ends. It is believed that so long as these ceremonies continue, the world will go on.
The course that I am offering is the first part of Shamanic work. The individual will “learn to journey” which is similar to meditating but at a deeper level. The journeys will be personal but guided, and you will experience and meet guides and power animals in different situations. It is beautiful work which I teach in a fun relaxed atmosphere with ongoing support both during and after the course.
Requirements for This Course: A rattle, a blindfold, a pillow, a blanket and mat or something comfortable to lie on. Also a notebook and pen to write your journeys in each week and coloured pencils, felts or crayons and a plain paper notebook. Rattles are personal choices but can be bought on several websites – maybe just type in shamanic rattles and see what you feel drawn towards.
This course will run over 8 weeks and we are currently inviting people to register their interest.
Suggested Time: 7.30pm to 9.30 pm, one evening each week for 8 weeks.
Total Cost: £225.00
